Only 20 minutes away, you can find the cathedral city of Worcester with its vibrant mix of the old (Cathedral, Tudor houses and museums) and new (Shopping centres, cinemas and markets).  All the high street shops are here, as well as more niche names like White Stuff, Phase Eight, Carluccios and Druckers Vienna Patisserie.   There are also many independent stores selling homeware, stationery, clothes, antiques and old-fashioned sweets; as well as a multitude of pubs and cafés.  The River Severn runs through the city, where you can take a leisurely stroll or even a boat tour.  The Art Gallery and Museum is housed in an elegant Victorian building and hosts a programme of special exhibitions, events and activities throughout the year. There is also the Worcestershire Sauce archive, the story of the Worcestershire Regiment and a recreated Victorian Chemist Shop.  Other historical places of interest include the impressive Worcester Cathedral, Museum of Royal Worcester, The Commandery and the Elgar Birthplace Museum. Sixways Stadium hosts an array of professional sporting events and Gheluvelt Park has a great splash pad for children. A range of theatrical and musical treats can be seen at both the Swan Theatre and Huntingdon Hall, and the city has two cinemas to choose from.

Within easy reach of The Nest there are many historic market and riverside towns in Worcestershire, such as Bewdley, Stourport-on-Severn, Droitwich Spa, Tenbury Wells, Pershore and Evesham.  The county is also full of many beautiful villages such as Ombersley, Upton-upon-Severn, Broadway and Inkberrow (inspiration for Radio 4's 'The Archers').  Just over the Worcestershire border and all under an hour away you can find pictureque places such as Cleobury Mortimer and Bridgnorth (Shropshire),  Leominster and Ledbury (Herefordshire) and Tewkesbury (Gloucestershire).
