A short break for up to four people with a wine tour of Astley Vineyard

As our guests, you will be able to spend an afternoon at Astley Vineyard, one of the oldest in the UK.
Join the Haywood family as they share their passion and tell their stories about the vineyard, then walk with them through their beautiful wooded valley, amongst their 5 acres of vines.
These intimate and informative tours are completed with a guided tasting of three of their award winning boutique wines, alongside a sampling of delicious local produce.
Our Wine Lovers’ Weekends include the following:

Of course we provide a complimentary bottle of wine from Astley Vineyard for guests staying at The Nest, so you can relax and enjoy a glass in idyllic surroundings.

Wine Tour and tasting which includes: An introduction to Astley Vineyard's history, accompanied by a welcome drink; A short walk to the vineyard via a beautiful wooded valley; A walk and talk amongst the vines, introducing you to the grape varieties and basic viticulture; A glass of wine at the pavilion which overlooks the vineyard and the beautiful Severn Valley; A quick look in the winery to talk about basic winemaking; And finally a sit down guided-tasting of three award winning wines, paired alongside samples of local produce.
Tours usually start at 3 pm and last around 2.5 hours. After your tasting, why not stay for a glass of wine on the Astley Vineyard terrace or Wine Garden? You may also choose to enjoy a meal in one of our local restaurants. We are only 5 minutes from the village of Ombersley which has no less than four fantastic restaurants/pubs for food lovers. We are also a short drive from the market town of Bewdley or the old city of Worcester, which has a fantastic range of independent shops, restaurants and bars.

Astley is a working farm and access to the vineyard is via an uneven and sloped path through a wooded valley.

Customers with walking difficulties are advised that the walk may be too difficult for some. Transportation via our 4X4 is available upon request - please contact us beforehand.

All customers are advised to wear sensible, sturdy shoes to cope with the walk.

You must be over 18 to sample wine on the tours. Astley Vineyard reserve the right to ask for ID

Nibbles of local produce are served to demonstrate food & wine pairing, so it would be helpful if you could let us know about your dietary restrictions before the tour.
