COVID-19

The Nest at Winnall has been awarded both VisitEngland & AA Industry Standard certificates,

demonstrating that we are following all government and industry COVID-19 guidelines

The Nest officially re-opened in July, and we have put measures in place to ensure all our guests feel completely safe when they visit us. We have a comprehensive Covid-19 Risk Assessment, new welcome procedures, enhanced cleaning protocols and have slightly changed and added to our guest experience.

New Flexible Booking Terms

  • Our calendar is open for bookings for this year and 2021. We have adopted new flexible booking terms for all stays before the end of 2020, including reducing the balance due period to just 4 weeks before your stay.

  • Additionally, if we are told by government that we have to close again due to a ‘second wave’ lockdown during this period, no deposit will be requested and all bookings will be transferred to a future date within 12 months, or a full refund given.

New Pre-arrival & Welcome Procedures

  • All our bookings are done online or by BACS transfer and you will be emailed a digital welcome pack before your stay.

  • We now leave 24 hours between guest bookings, we have contactless check-in and all communication during your stay is easily done by text, email or phone.

  • Condiments and added extras like tea, coffee, sugar, etc have been replaced with individual sachets.

  • We are rotating things like throws, cushions, books, DVDs, toys, etc. and have reduced the number of decorative items on display.

  • Only those beds required for your stay will be made up.

  • New signage will be in place to reiterate hygiene practices.

  • We will check with you before you arrive whether you would prefer not to have freshly baked products within your welcome pack.

Full details of our new Procedures & Practices can be viewed here.

Enhanced Cleaning Procedures

We are working hard to ensure the safety of our guests, our staff, our community and ourselves, and are following all specific Government cleaning guidance.  We already undertake an extremely high standard of cleaning and this is regularly commented upon by guests in our visitors book and online reviews, all of which are publicly available. But of course we’re being even more vigilant than normal in the current climate:

  • We have extended our cleaning hours to allow for thorough deep cleaning, sanitisation and full airing of the Nest.

  • All cleaning is carried out wearing the correct PPE if deemed appropriate.

  • All bed linen, duvet, mattress & pillow protectors, towels, flannels, teatowels, dishcloths & throws are washed on a full 60° wash cycle.  Guests are free to bring their own bedding, duvets and/or towels if they would prefer, this can be arranged in advance.

  • Special attention is being paid to sanitising ‘high traffic’ touch points, ie. Light switches, plugs, door handles, TV remotes, small appliance handles, heating thermostat, handrails, taps, toilets, keysafe, garden furniture, etc.

  • All mattresses, pillows, duvets & soft furnishings are steam cleaned between guests and sprayed with fabric disinfectant.

  • We have developed a thorough cleaning checklist for our staff so that we can be sure we have prepared, cleaned, sanitised, checked and reset the Nest to the highest standards.

What We Ask of You

We also trust in our guests to respect our local community and the procedures we are working hard to implement.  Therefore we request that you follow all UK Government guidelines for the duration of your stay with us, and we ask you to agree to take individual responsibility for your own personal safety during your stay here. Most importantly you must not visit us if you have been, or suspect you have been, exposed to the virus or develop symptoms. In this instance you must self isolate at home

  • Frequent handwashing is still the best form of defence, and we are strongly reiterating this message to both staff and guests.

  • For your own use during your stay, you will be given cloths, gloves and virucidal surface cleaner for hard surfaces ONLY (ie. Please DO NOT spray this on fabric or soft furnishings).

  • Please DO NOT bring your own bleach-based cleaning products, as bleach should not be used in our septic tank system.

  • There is also hand sanitiser available at the entrance door to the Nest, antibacterial handwash & tissues at all sinks and a small bottle of hand sanitiser in your welcome pack.

  • We request that you air the property as much as is practically possible during your stay.

  • Prior to departure, we also ask that you leave all windows open, put all linen and towels in the laundry bags provided and vacate the Nest at 10am prompt.

If you feel unwell with Covid-19 symptoms, experience an infectious outbreak, or are asymptomatic but declare the need to self-isolate whilst staying at The Nest, you must inform us of this without delay.  You must then leave The Nest and travel home immediately. We have left clear instructions on what to do in this instance, along with relevant contacts.

Full Terms & Conditions

Our full revised Terms & Conditions, which include our COVID-19 policy updates for new bookings can be found here.  For current bookings the terms and conditions you booked under still apply, plus the additional COVID-19 policies in our new Terms & Conditions.

** We strongly recommend that Guests take out travel/holiday insurance to cover their party and protect from any losses associated with needing to cancel your holiday.  For peace of mind, it is well worth the minimal cost involved.**

Finally, this is a learning curve for all of us, trying to adapt to a 'new normal'  in this uncertain time.  Therefore we hope you will understand and bear with us.

Please do raise any concerns or questions you may have so we can try and resolve them for you.
